05071063-Tee-JICORB-75-x-75.1312.3-1
Product Name: Tee, JIC/ORB, .75 x .75 (Part No. 05071063)
Description:
This component is a hydraulic tee adapter that combines two different industry-standard connection types: JIC (Joint Industry Council) 37° flare and ORB (O-Ring Boss). Specifically, it is a 3/4-inch JIC male x 3/4-inch JIC male x 3/4-inch ORB male run tee .
Its primary engineering function is to create a three-way junction in a hydraulic line, allowing fluid to be split or combined. The two JIC male ends are designed for connections to standard 3/4" hoses or tubes, creating a straight-through run. The ORB male end (branch) provides a port to connect an auxiliary component—such as a pressure gauge, sensor, or hose—directly off the main line.
As documented in the official parts diagram for the Hydraulic Reservoir Assembly (P/N 72152878), this tee is listed as Item 6 (Quantity: 1), confirming its role in the low-pressure hydraulic circuit of waterjet cutting systems .
Applications:
Used as the primary mounting point for a pressure gauge or sensor on the Hydraulic Reservoir Assembly .
Creates a tee junction to branch fluid flow to auxiliary components without interrupting the main hydraulic line.
Compatible with standard 3/4" JIC and ORB hydraulic ports in waterjet power units.
Features:
JIC 37° Flare Connection: The two JIC male ends utilize a 37-degree flare for a reliable, vibration-resistant metal-to-metal seal commonly used in high-pressure hydraulics.
ORB (O-Ring Boss) Connection: The branch uses an ORB male connection, which seals via an elastomeric O-ring against a machined boss face, ensuring a leak-proof seal .
Tee Configuration: Allows for a straight run (JIC x JIC) with a perpendicular branch (ORB) for auxiliary connections.
Corrosion-Resistant Construction: Manufactured from high-strength carbon steel with a protective anti-corrosion plating to withstand harsh hydraulic environments .
Direct OEM Replacement: Interchangeable with the original equipment manufacturer's part number as per the official parts diagram.
Maintenance:
Connection Details & Preparation:
JIC Ends (2): 3/4" male JIC (37° flare). The seal is made at the flare cone . Inspect the flare surface for nicks or scratches before assembly.
ORB End: 3/4" male ORB (uses an O-ring for sealing). The O-ring is a single-use consumable.
Installation & Inspection:
Full Depressurization (Critical): Before any maintenance, place the main electrical disconnect in the OFF position, fully depressurize the hydraulic system, and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
ORB O-Ring Replacement: The O-ring for the ORB side is a single-use component. Whenever this tee is loosened or removed, the O-ring must be replaced with a new one of the correct size .
Thread Inspection: Clean all threads thoroughly. Inspect them for galling, corrosion, or damage.
Torque Compliance: Tighten all connections to the specific torque values listed in the equipment service manual using a calibrated torque wrench. Over-tightening can damage threads or the O-ring; under-tightening will cause leaks.
Do Not Use Sealant on JIC: Do not use thread sealant (e.g., Teflon tape) on JIC threads, as the seal is made at the 37° flare cone, not the threads.
Lubrication: Lubricate the new O-ring on the ORB side with clean hydraulic oil before installation to prevent pinching.
Replacement Criteria: Replace the tee immediately if threads are damaged, the ORB sealing boss is compromised, or the body shows visible cracking or deformation.
