Blue Goop A-2185
Product Name: Blue Goop / Anti-Seize Lubricant (Part No. A-2185)
Description:
This component is a specialized assembly lubricant and anti-seize compound, commonly known as "Blue Goop," designed specifically for ultra-high pressure (UHP) waterjet cutting systems . It is a smooth, paste-like lubricant typically packaged in 2 oz containers. The compound is specially formulated to facilitate the smooth installation of critical precision components and to protect metal parts under extreme operating conditions .
Applications:
Lubricates threaded connections on high-pressure (HP) fittings, tubing, and gland nuts during assembly .
Applied to O-rings, seals, and backup rings to prevent pinching, rolling, or cutting during installation .
Used on retaining pins and mechanical joints within the hydraulic end of the intensifier pump .
Acts as a corrosion inhibitor to prevent thread galling, seizing, and oxidation between stainless steel components .
Features:
Assembly Aid: Reduces friction during the assembly of seals, pistons, and high-pressure fittings, preventing damage to sealing surfaces .
Anti-Seize Protection: Prevents high-pressure threads from galling (cold welding) and seizing, which is critical for future disassembly .
Water Resistance: Specifically formulated to maintain its lubricity in high-moisture, high-humidity waterjet environments.
Compatibility: Formulated for use with standard high-pressure seal materials (e.g., polyurethane, PTFE) and stainless steel hardware .
Cross-Reference Compatibility: Equivalent to part numbers 1-11111 and 302692; compatible with FLOW, AccuStream, and OMAX waterjet systems .
Maintenance:
Application Frequency: Apply Blue Goop to threads and seals every time the associated joint or component is disassembled and reassembled .
Method of Application: Use a clean brush or applicator to apply a thin, even layer to male and female threads, or lightly coat seal lips and O-rings before insertion.
Consumable Classification: This is a maintenance consumable. It is not a mechanical spare part, but it must be replenished during every seal or component replacement procedure .
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place with the cap tightly sealed to prevent contamination from abrasive dust.
Full Depressurization: Always fully depressurize the waterjet system and follow lockout/tagout procedures before disassembling components for lubrication.
