Safety Valve Repair Kit (Part No. 305836)
Product Name: Safety Valve Rebuild Package / Safety Valve Repair Kit (Part No. 305836)
Description:
This component is a safety valve rebuild package, also known as a safety valve repair kit, specifically designed for the high-pressure safety (relief) valve on a waterjet cutting system . It is a pre-assembled collection of precision replacement parts used to overhaul and restore the function of the safety valve, which is a critical device that protects the system from dangerous over-pressure conditions. The kit typically contains the necessary seals, O-rings, springs, and valve internals required for a complete rebuild.
Applications:
Rebuilds the high-pressure safety valve (relief valve) on waterjet intensifier pumps and cutting systems
Restores the valve's ability to open at the correct pressure threshold, protecting the system from pressure spikes
Suitable for ultra-high pressure waterjet systems operating at 60,000–94,000 PSI (approximately 4,137–6,480 bar)
Compatible with standard waterjet safety valve assemblies
Features:
Complete Rebuild Package: The kit contains all necessary components for a full safety valve overhaul, including seals, O-rings, and instructions
High-Pressure Compatibility: Engineered for the extreme pressure conditions of waterjet cutting, preventing dangerous system over-pressurization
Critical Safety Device: The safety valve is a primary safety component that prevents catastrophic equipment failure and operator injury
OEM Specification: Manufactured to meet original equipment standards for proper fit and reliable operation
Precision Components: Contains precision-machined parts that meet exacting tolerances for correct valve function
Maintenance:
When to Rebuild (Failure Diagnosis):
Pressure Relief Too Early: If the safety valve opens or leaks at pressures below the rated set point, internal seals or springs are worn
Failure to Open: If the system exceeds the maximum working pressure without the valve opening, the valve is stuck or internals have failed
Visible External Leakage: High-pressure water weeping from the valve body indicates seal failure
Preventive Schedule: It is recommended to rebuild the safety valve during major pump overhauls or every 1,000–2,000 operating hours
Rebuild Procedure:
Full Depressurization: Before any maintenance, fully depressurize the waterjet system (both hydraulic and high-pressure water circuits) and follow lockout/tagout procedures
Remove Safety Valve: Carefully disconnect and remove the safety valve assembly from the intensifier pump or manifold
Disassemble: Following the included instructions, disassemble the valve body, removing old springs, poppets, seals, and O-rings
Inspect Valve Body: Examine the valve body bore and sealing surfaces for scoring, pitting, or erosion. Replace the entire valve if damage is severe
Clean Thoroughly: Clean all metal components and the valve body cavity with low-pressure water and soft brushes. Remove all debris, mineral deposits, and old seal residue
Install New Components: Install all new seals, O-rings, springs, and internal components from the rebuild kit. Use high-pressure grease on seals during assembly
Torque Compliance: Reassemble and tighten all components to the torque values specified in the equipment service manual
Pressure Test: After reinstallation, slowly pressurize the system and verify the safety valve opens at the correct set pressure
Replace if Damaged: Replace the entire safety valve assembly if the valve body is cracked, threads are damaged, or internal erosion is excessive
Safety Note:
The safety valve is a critical safety device. Improper rebuilding or incorrect pressure setting can lead to catastrophic system failure and severe injury. Only qualified personnel should service safety valves.
