Details

Product Name: Cutting Head Body (New Model) / Part No. 510000636

Description:
This component is the main structural housing of the cutting head assembly, identified as a newer or updated model . Manufactured from high-strength stainless steel, it serves as the central body that aligns and secures critical consumable components including the jewel orifice (water nozzle), the mixing chamber (where abrasive is introduced), and the focusing tube (mixing tube) . It provides the precision-machined internal bore necessary for maintaining coaxial alignment between these components, which is essential for producing a coherent and focused cutting jet .

Applications:

  • Serves as the central mounting block for the abrasive waterjet cutting head assembly

  • Positions and retains the water nozzle (orifice), mixing chamber, and mixing tube

  • Suitable for standard 60,000 PSI (approximately 4,137 bar) abrasive waterjet systems

Features:

  • High-Strength Stainless Steel Construction: Provides durability and resistance to erosion from high-pressure water and abrasive particles

  • Precision-Machined Bore: Maintains strict coaxial alignment between the water nozzle and mixing tube for jet coherence

  • Abrasive Inlet Port: Integrated side port allows for the Venturi effect to draw garnet into the mixing chamber

  • Threaded Connections: Features precision threads for secure attachment to the water on/off valve and mixing tube retainer

Maintenance:

  • Alignment Check: Misalignment between the water nozzle and mixing tube will cause rapid wear of the mixing tube and poor cut quality. Ensure all components are seated correctly during assembly

  • O-Ring Replacement: The cutting head body relies on O-rings for sealing at the water nozzle and mixing tube interfaces. Replace these seals during every service

  • Internal Inspection: When disassembled, inspect the internal bore for signs of erosion, scratching, or wear. Damage can disrupt the Venturi effect required for abrasive suction

  • Water Leakage: Water dripping from the cutting head often indicates a failed O-ring or a cracked body. Inspect and replace seals or the body immediately

  • Nozzle Clogging: If the water jet is split or scattered, check the water nozzle (orifice) for blockages or damage first before inspecting the body itself

  • Full Depressurization: Always fully depressurize the waterjet system and follow lockout/tagout procedures before disassembling the cutting head body
